Maternal Fetal Medicine at Northwestern Medicine Regional Medical Group

Complete prenatal care from specialists at Northwestern Medicine Regional Medical Group

Northwestern Medicine Regional Medical Group is here to guide you through your pregnancy, and that includes skilled care from highly trained maternal fetal specialists should complications arise.

The maternal fetal team provides comprehensive personalized care from preconception to post-delivery for conditions that may complicate pregnancy. In addition to experienced nurses, certified sonographers, genetic counselors, neonatologists and pediatric specialists, the MFM team includes obstetricians who are specially trained to diagnose, treat and manage health concerns that could increase the health risk of the mother and baby.

Maternal fetal specialists are prepared to provide customized care for those at high risk, such as advanced maternal age, bleeding, cervical incompetence, depression, genetic disorders and isoimmunization. Maternal health conditions like blood disorders, cystic fibrosis, diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure, as well as multiple births, preterm labor, preterm rupture of membranes or previous miscarriage may also be cause for MFM care.

In addition to personal treatment throughout your pregnancy, the highly trained maternal fetal physicians will collaborate with the rest of your care team to provide optimal, comprehensive prenatal care.
