1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderBecause he is a bit standoffish and you would think that since he’s an addiction medicine psychiatrist he would know NOT to offer me Ambien for sleep every time I see him since I’ve gone through rehab for being addicted to it and sober for 7 years. But he offers it every time and there are sometimes I really want to say, “yes, please prescribe it to me so I can actually sleep.†Yet I gently remind him that is the reason I am there in the first place and maybe make a note in RED on my chart as not to recommend it anymore. He just says, “ok, you just need to remind me again.â€

2.0 star star star_border star_border star_borderHe basically was extremely rude. He told me he couldn’t help me and I was very compliant with his questions. He didn’t give me time to think of any answers. He asked three questions in rapid fire. I needed more time to answer. I should not be billed for this.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Hasanat takes the time to listen at every appointment and actively works to ensure he has the whole picture of what is going on outside of how the medication and helps to use that to base medication regimens. Very knowledgeable about his field and has helped me make great progress since I switched to him.

2.0 star star star_border star_border star_borderThe doctor was too fast with the visit. He moved from one question to the next, not allowing much time for further explanation. He also seemed to make assumptions for some of my answers, which may have been a cause from him having an accent and us not fully understanding what the other was saying. If he had slowed down I think things could have been understood better. Also, I'm already stable on my current medication, but if I had been completely new to seeing a psychiatrist, I would have been completely overwhelmed with this doctor not being very thorough or having a pleasant bedside manner.

1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderEvery appointment we are asked to arrive 10-15 mins prior to our scheduled appointment. It is ridiculous that my doctor walks through the door 40 mins after my scheduled appointment start time. I don't think it's fair that I have to arrive early when he doesn't even arrive on time. I have to adjust my work schedule because I know I will run the risk of being late for work after appointment since he is never on time.

4.0 star star star star star_borderHe was nice and is helping with my needs, but I wasn't very comfortable. I was talking and he just got up and left, I think to get something off the printer. I wondered if he was really paying attention. Any other type of medical care, that's not a huge deal, but people seeking this care are sensitive and vulnerable and shouldn't have to question if they're being heard.

3.0 star star star star_border star_borderHe isn’t a pill pusher, which is nice, however I wish there was more digging and more work on figuring out differential diagnoses. I work in healthcare and I know it’s not as simple as a quick interview to figure out what’s going on. He did respect my wishes and gave me a referral for psych testing. Which I believe should be offered to new patients presenting with symptoms and it isn’t clear cut what’s going on.

4.0 star star star star star_borderHe is a very good Dr. but very difficult to leave a message if you are running out of medication. I tried to get a phone visit and was told that there were no appointments in the near future and then not enough time to discuss at the appointment.

1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderI felt disrespected and uncomfortable. I’d prefer if I spoke to a female physician. He told me I should change therapists, but he didn't let me finish I feel very comfortable with my therapist. Shes the only therapist around me who specializes in DBT. My psychiatrist made me feel very uncomfortable by repeatably asking me if I had intercourse. He asked me more than twice, and when I denied it, he said “oh cause you religious?†He also wanted to speak to my father knowing I’m an adult, and I didn’t feel comfortable with it. I had to repeat myself more than once with him and it was a difficult conversation. I had thoughts of walking out of the appointment. He also spent a few minutes looking down on his phone, and I found it rude when I was talking to him.

5.0 star star star star starI just met the doctor today but he, was patient and asked me pertinent questions to try to understand me better. I appreciate his seemingly genuine interest in helping me. He seems quite knowledgeable and well versed in his field of expertise. He was patient and kind which is important.

5.0 star star star star starDoctor was easy to talk to and provided a comfortable environment for sharing this type of subject matter. He presented himself very professionally, yet had a sense of humor and an approachable personality. I felt that he truly heard me, cared about what I shared, and that made it easy to trust his adjustments to my medications. He also did not seem rushed or like he was trying to speed through our visit as soon as possible.

4.0 star star star star star_borderAs mentioned above, I have no doubt he is a good doctor, but patients who come in to an office of a psychiatrist are looking for more than just a prescription for their medication. There should be some time during the session for conversation and concerns that the patient may have. Not like a talk, therapist, but a little of that during the session if even 10 minutes, I will give him the benefit of the doubt and return in three months. I will reevaluate after that.

5.0 star star star star starThere are many reason why I like Dr. Hasanat. One thing I noticed is he knew things we talked about 4-5 months ago. He takes notes and gives his full attention to me. Dr Hasanat is not only a great Dr. but a great person as well!

Doctor asks me, a person who knows nothing about medical care, what type of medication I want to take and the dosage. Isn’t that why I’m seeing a doctor? The doctor got upset with me because I asked questions about the medication. He said he doesn’t have all day to talk about medication and I’m being too vague about my problems. The fact that I have trouble explaining my issues is a part of the reason I’m in his office. I don’t go to a professional to make me feel stupid for not diagnosing myself.

1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderHe did not listen well. He made me feel betrayed, tricked and very uncomfortable when admitting me to inpatient. Although he likely made a good decision in that regard, his delivery completely broke any trust in him. He did not explain other medication options, and only tried one medication. In visits he was rushed and did not seem comforting or understanding. He did not coordinate or communicate with either my GP or sleep Doctor who are both also at NM.

1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderHe was very rude and condescending. He took everything I said and turned it all around. He upset me! He made me cry! I’m on medication, I shouldn’t be crying! I couldn’t even understand him! He was typing all throughout my session. He was interrupting me. He can’t even spell!!! I will not be going back to him! I’ll have to look outside my hospital in order to try and find a caring doctor who won’t talk down to me.
